PATHS
is a completely volunteer program. It is our goal to help give your
child the best start in life. We offer personal home visits which will
individualize the program for your family. During these visits we will
discuss child development and child rearing issues that come up at
various ages, helping you to know what to expect and to appreciate the
significance of these accomplishments. Parent Educators will bring you
written material about what to look for in your child’s development and
things you can do to encourage this development. We offer group
meetings designed to help parents share experiences and gain new
insights into their child’s development and behavior. We perform
periodic developmental, vision, and hearing screenings. This will help
you understand your child’s development and to identify areas where
there may be some concerns. We help to link parents with agencies that
provide services beyond the scope of PATHS. We offer playgroups to give
you the opportunity to get to know other parents in the community with
children the same age as yours. Parent Educators have background
and experience in working with young children and families. All
Educators have attended specialized training in childhood development
from Parents As Teachers National Center and have been certified as a
parent educator. We serve expecting mothers and children birth to the
age of three years. If you know of someone whom is not involved
in our program encourage them to contact us.
